So, in my today’s article I am going to give you few tips with which you can create a more user friendly blog theme so that your first time visitors can know the exact niche of your blog just by having a quick scan over your blog. Lets start:
Give a short introduction of your blog above the fold in the sidebar
The most seen space on your blog is header and the other is the topmost position in the sidebar, to tell your visitors about your blog you can give a short introduction about your blog. The 2 lines should cover following points:
- What topics you cover in your blog
- Who should read your blog
Write a very short tagline under logo/banner
As told before the header is the most seen space on your blog, so it is recommended to give a short tagline under your blog/banner. When the first time visitor will have a look at your blog, he/she will know the exact niche of your blog.
Create a short video or audio telling why your blog exists
If you want you can create a short video or audio and put it in the home page or in the footer of your blog that will explain more about your blog. In this video/audio tell why your blog exists and what benefits will your readers will get after reading your blog.
Create a perfect “About me” page
Top bloggers says that more than 80% of their first time visitors view and read about me page, so it is must to have a perfect about me page that will explain all about you and your blog in detail. Read my article on how to create a perfect about me page.

I use all these tips to tell my visitors the exact niche of my blog. The “about me page” is the best one for me because as you say, most of my visitors read the about me page.
I think the About page is one of the most significant page in a blog\. Framing it properly can do a lot of profit
