Last time I gave you 70 Tips to Get Traffic To Your Blog, and promised you that I’ll try to explain each and every point in detail in my future posts. I covered few points in my previous article (you can read it here). Commenting can help you to get 100+ unique visitors daily but you need proper knowledge about writing a good comment and in my today’s article I am going to give you some tips on how to comment on other blogs. Lets start :
Basic requirements before writing comments
- Download and install Mozilla Firefox
- Install an add-on called easyComment that will automatically fill Name, email id and website field so that you do not have to write them again and again.

Read the full article before making a comment
Yes! before writing any comment, do read the full article so that you get basic idea of what you’ve to write. Do not write a comment in a hurry.
Use your real name
I’ve seen many comments that uses spammy text in the Name field like Make Money Online, Affiliate Marketing. Please, do not do it as such comments automatically gets filter if the webmaster has installed Akismet plugin. So, it is recommended to use your real name.
Use real email address
Do not use fake email ids or temporary ids, this is because almost every blog has an option Subscribe to Comments, so if you really want to get traffic through comment, always use a real email id and subscribe to comments to participate in the conversation.
Show respect
It you are not satisfied with someones thought, do not disrespect the post author or other commentators at all. In return, you will also get the same comments on your blog also. So be nice.
Why you should comment
Before writing any comment ask yourself a question that why you want to write this comment. I’ve seen tons of useless comments like great post, thanks for sharing, keep it up, hats off that holds no importance. If you have nothing to say then do not write a comment.
Research
Before writing a comment, research for the topic on other websites. This will add more information to your comments and will make your comment more appealing and more important.
Avoid using signature
Do not use signature while writing comments, it may look good in forums but while commenting, avoid it . Reason? Your comment will look spammy.
Subscribe to blogs and try to be the first commentator
I have subscribed to number of blogs and when I read my mails I always try to be the first commentator of that article. This will help you to get noticed.
Gravatar
It is must you have a Gravatar, this is because you can only be noticed if you’ve a unique Gravatar. Names can be common, so in order to get noticed use a unique Gravatar.
No link to your blog
While making a comment, do not give link to our own blog until and unless it is required.
Read other comments
Before making any comment, read all the previous comments. It will not look good if you are saying the same thing that is told by ten other people also.
Help others
As told above, you should read others comments, if anyone has asked for help, try to help him. If you do not know the answer search it on net. (Another best way to get noticed)
Keep your comment short
Do not write long comments, no one’s gonna read it. You’re not writing any article but a comment. Write less but write good.
Proofread
No one likes comments with spelling and grammatical mistakes. So, avoid them while writing comment, Proofread it, you can install this plugin called Spell and Grammer Checker, this will ease your work.
Ask question
OK, if you have nothing to say then simply ask a question to the author about that particular post. You will get to know something new from it.
